Distributors
Today I got a call from a video distributor. His company wants to duplicate and distribute my video, and pay me 8% of the wholesale price they will charge to retailers, which will be half of the retail price.

I offer the chickenvideo at a wholesale price if you buy more than ten, but I don't offer a 92% discount! When I first produced the video, I thought the distributor I hired might be able to make me lots of money. I finally decided I could do just as well or better on my own. So far that's been the case.

If you want to sell the video, let me know and we can work out a deal. But I duplicate the video here in Hollywood, so I can keep tabs on the quality and make sure it's done right. I can also keep tabs on how many copies are made.

The first duplicator I hired for this DVD didn't do a good job, the video looked like DV. (Don't get me started on the DVD bit bucket and low production quality!) Suffice to say, if you know the difference the low quality of DV is just not acceptable. I work in broadcast programming and when I make a show it is produced and completed in a way that it could be aired on any network. High quality camera work, lit and shot well. Mixed and sweetened so the audio is clear.

I think I'll pass up this offer.
