Chicken bingo

This is a fundraising game that one of my friends saw earlier this summer and thought I should write about. For those of us who have chickens, this could be a great way to put them to work! Even better, no chickens are harmed by this process.

First build a cage and divide the bottom into a numbered grid.

This game is not really bingo, it is more like roulette using where a chicken poops to choose a numbered square.

The cage above is a table 7 wide by 8 high using the numbers 1 to 56.The game box was about the size of a chicken cage to attach to the chicken houses, about 3.5 ft by 4 ft. It took a while between when the chicken was put into the cage and when it pooped.

At this event it was $1 to bet on a square. If the chicken pooped on your square, you got $29, half the $56 collected. The other $29 was donated to the cause. People signed their names on their chosen number when they placed their bet.

While one game is going on the operator was taking the next 56 bets. There were two chickens, but only one was in the cage at a time, the other was in a cage which had food and water.

Most of the kids at this event just wanted to watch (and pet) the chickens. The adults were humoring the kids by donating to the cause.

If this is illegal where you live, please do not do this! I thought it was a fun way to raise money for a good cause and wanted to share it with you.
