The five colanders
on the right yielded 22 quarts of peaches, into the freezer. It's
a wonderful thing to taste in when its cold out and summer is a memory.
Peaches, even frozen, retain a captured essence of warm and sweet.
Every winter
I look at all these big bowls and wonder why do I have all these in
my cupboard? I'll look at this picture next winter and remember.
My chickens are
good, egg production is tapering off a bit-- but not enough so there's
a shortage. The souffle works well as a
leftover, sliced and dipped in eggs like bread it makes a good french
toast! With peaches on top, its a wonderful experience.
